Awarded by the Arboricultural Association, the leading professional body for arboriculture in the UK, the ARB Approved Contractor mark is the industry’s most respected quality standard for tree surgery businesses. To achieve and maintain it, we are regularly assessed on the quality of our tree work, our health and safety procedures, and our business management practices.

CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) Elite is the highest tier of CHAS accreditation, assessed against the Common Assessment Standard. Unlike standard CHAS, the Elite level encompasses twelve assessment categories including health and safety, modern slavery, financial standing, insurance, environmental performance, corporate social responsibility, quality management, information security and anti-bribery.

CHAS Elite is widely accepted across public and private sector procurement frameworks as a comprehensive contractor pre-qualification credential.

SafeContractor is a widely used contractor health and safety pre-qualification scheme, operated by Alcumus. Our approval covers Tree Surgery work categories and was awarded on the basis of the SSIP deem to satisfy process, recognising our ARB Approved Contractor status as the originator scheme.

Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) is a forum that facilitates mutual recognition between health and safety pre-qualification schemes. Our SSIP Approved status – awarded through Avetta on the basis of our ARB Approved Contractor scheme membership — means that organisations using any SSIP member scheme can accept our credentials without requiring us to re-register separately.

All tree work we undertake is carried out in accordance with British Standard BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations. This standard sets out best practice for tree work operations and is the reference standard used by local authorities, surveyors and arboricultural consultants when specifying or assessing tree surgery work.

All operatives are NPTC (LANTRA Awards) certified for the specific work activities they undertake, including chainsaw use and operation of specialist machinery. This is not optional – it is a legal and professional requirement for safe, competent arboricultural work.

We carry full public liability insurance. Details of our current cover are available on request. All insurance information is validated as part of our CHAS Elite assessment.
